I am back from Swissconsin..:O) I bought an old Norwegian Fremad Society Ledger from Calumet, it has records from 1890-1915,with 363 members listed. As soon as it comes in I will database it. Svein Strom is helping me with the translation of where they came from and their sponsors. I was so happy to get this back "home". Have a safe Memorial Day. Alicia This was the description from ebay: This is a Norwegian Fremad Society record book from Calumet, Michigan (Upper Peninsula, Keweenaw Peninsula, Houghton County, Copper Country, geology, mining, miner, mine, history) dating from 1890 thru 1915. It is a spreadsheet / ledger style , 8" by 10 3/4", 3/4 leather book containing the handwritten names, birthplaces, occupations, city of residence, age, etc. (my best guess based on my very limited knowledge of the Norwegian Language) of 363 members. The entries occupy 18 pages, which is approximately one-fifth of the book's capacity.
