    1. Re: [MIHOUGHT] Hoffenbacher/Hoffenbecker/Ruhl
    2. In two weeks were are going to spend a few days in the Eagle Harbor and Hancock areas. My great grandmother and her relatives (the Hoffenbachers and Hoffenbeckers) first immigrated to Eagle Harbor before settling in Hancock. Is there a cemetery index on-line so I can know where to look for graves? I think my great grandmother (her married name was Margaretha Schneider) is buried at Maple Hill(?). Her sister Catharina Ruhl may be buried there too. I undertstand that there are Hoffenbeckers buried both at Eagle Harbor and in Hancock but I don't know where. While I am asking, where is the bets place to buy pasties? Bob Peck California

Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg//2FB.2ACI/2465 Message Board Post: I got more info about John today, Hopefully someone can help me to find a death certificat etc. for John. John Olof Johansson (Johnson?) Aidanpää b. 20/12 1884 d. 26/12 1912 His wifes name is unknown. s. John Sigfrid b. 24/10 1910 d. Lydia Sophia b. 10/4 1913 1.He seems to have left Sweden after 6/6 1910. There is a note saying he left his homeparish for another town, Kiruna, that date. It´s very likely that he got his ticket there from his brother and then left for the USA. 2. The death book in his homeparish says "Cause of death: Died after surgery. Place of death: Hancock in north America. Information from the parish in Hancock, north America 31/1 1913" 3. His children are not found in the Birthrecords in Sweden so its likely that they are born in USA and if so very likely in Hancock. I hope this info is enough to track the family down. Sincerely Fredrik Mattsson in Sweden
