James and Anna Burns had nine children: Frank E. Burns - see below. Margaret E. Burns - born 1856 near Moscow, died 1941 in Howell. Married Charlie Holkins (who founded Holkins lumber business in Howell), had one son, Ralph, who married Edna Lindsey (resident of Litchfield). Ralph and Edna had two children: Charles and Dorothy Holkins (each born in Howell). Mary Burns - born 1850s near Moscow, died ? Married Truman Benedict, had several children, including Rachel Benedict. Eugene Burns - born 1858 near Moscow, died ? in Litchfield. John S. Burns - born 1860 near Moscow, died c. 1931. Buried in Jonesville Cemetery. Will Burns - born 1862 near Moscow, lived in Allen, buried in Sunset View Cemetery in Jonesville. Jennie L. Burns - born 1864 near Moscow, died 1942 in Hillsdale. Buried in Sunset View Cemetery in Jonesville. Fred E. Burns - born 1874 near Moscow. Died ? Taught in Hillsdale County schools, later moved to Eugene, Oregon. Married Della Berg. Fred and Della had two children: Bertha Burns (who married "Andy" Anderson) and Frederick Burns. Frederick once lived in Maryland and had a son Robert Burns. Dora Burns - born 1874, died 1875. FRANK E. BURNS - born 1868 near Moscow, died 1948 in Hillsdale, buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsdale. Frank married Jennie Sullivan in 1890 in Allen. Jennie (born 1868) was daughter of Jeremiah Sullivan and Jane Fagan, and died in 1912 in Allen. Frank then married Edith Hakes (born 1873) in 1913 in Ray, Indiana. Edith died in 1954. Frank and Jennie Burns had two children: Hazel Aileen Burns, born 1896, died 1983. Married Henry Frederick Hamill in 1923. They had one son: Robert Henry Hamill (born 1924, died 1971). IVAN WILLIAM BURNS, born 1891 in Hillsdale County, died 1947 in Hastings. Married Mildred Lucille Bowers (born 1897, died 1972) in 1920 in Eaton Rapids. Ivan worked for N.Y. Central R.R. in Addison, Hillsdale, Eaton Rapids, Litchfield, and Hastings. Ivan and Mildred Burns had two children: Janet Elizabeth Burns - born 1923 in Addison.
