I am trying to find documentation to support the marriages of my great-grandmother, Minerva E. PRIEST STEWART MURRAY, who spent most of her life in Hillsdale. She was born around 1848 in Licking County, Ohio, to Julianne TODD and Dyer Allen PRIEST, and lived in Defiance County, Ohio in 1860. From census records I know they moved to Hillsdale by 1870. By 1874 she had two children, Bertha and John STEWART ( my grandfather), and by 1880 she had a son named Edward MURRAY and was listed as a widow, staying with her sister and brother-in-law, Fannyretta and Hiram COREY, in Kansas. Bertha and John were not with her. Perhaps it was only a visit. She later lived in Hillsdale with Hiram who was a widower, then with her son Edward MURRAY, and ultimately with her niece, Estelle COREY CHESTNUT. I have her obituary that says she died July 8, 1939 and that a Reverend E. B. Hildner would officiate at the funeral, held at the home of her niece at 16 Charles Street. Does anyone have any information about any of these people? Does anyone know what church Rev. Hildner would have been associated with? Jan Melville Benders
