JOHN and JANE CARNES MCKNIGHT moved from Niagara Co, NY to Hillsdale , Mi in 1835. These were my gr gr grandparents. JOHN was t he son of ANDREW MCKNIGHT (PA) BN IN 1795 in Seneca Co, NY. JOHN and Jane had Robert, Martha, William P and later in MI Helen. Robert m a WILLIAMS. MARTHA married a Williams, Gurnsey, and Wm P, my gr grandfather, m Harriet Williams. JEDEDIAH and HARRIET WILLIAMS were their parents. Wm P and Harriet lived in Hillsdale until 1877 then moving to Carthage Co, MO. They moved with most of their children with them - 7. My grandmother, JENNIE, taught school in MO and later married WILLIAM WHITE. I don't know where or what h appened to the other children of Wm P and Harriet McKnight's children. There should be descendents of Robert McKnight, Gurnsey Williams and Martha somewhere in MI. John McKnight is buried in the Somerset Cemetery behind the Congregational Church. Someone replaced the tombstone in the 1990s. Someone has to know about the McKnights. I know nothing about Jedidiah Williams. I really would like to know something about them. I don't know where Harriet Williams McKNight is buried-MO or MI? Wm P's children - 7 - of them are also out there somewhere-at least their descendants are. Helen, John, Charles, Jessie, Jennie and Gurnsey are some of the 7. Jennie is the only one I know anything about being as she was my grandmother. Thank you. Elnora White Bowen swteb@aol.com OK
