Source: Hudson Post 7 July 1893 Mrs. Martha VanOrsdale was born in *Woodhull Township, Steuben County, New York May 9. 1833 and died of paralysis in Wright Township, Hillsdale County, Michigan July 1, 1893. aged 60 years and 22 days. She was the mother of eight children, three sons and five daughters, one son and three daughters are yet living to mourn their loss. She had been sick about one year, but was confided to her bed but one week. The funeral services were held at the Baptist Church at Lickley's Corners at 11:00 o'clock a.m. Her remains were laid in the cemetery at that place to await resurrection morn. *was born in Tioga Co.
