Source: Hudson Post 17 May 1885 Isaac Johns was born in Jefferson County, Ohio March 3, 1810 and died of consumption at home of his son-in-law, George Mackey, at Prattville May 13, aged 85 years, 2 months, and 10 days. He married Miss Ruth Foglesong at Mansfield, Richland County, Ohio, March 14, 1833, He came to Michigan in 1868 and settled Southwest of Prattville. His wife died 8 years ago June 24. Was youngest of family of 8 children. They had 12 children, Emily and Ruth, both died when young; Mrs. L. D. Cornish, Steuben County, Indiana, who died in February, 1883. Nine yet living, Mrs. Jacob Hursh, Williams County, Ohio, Mrs. John Dury, Gilead, Branch County, Michigan, Mrs. C. N. Osburn, Central City, Merrick County, Nebraska, Elizer Johns, Ransom, Hillsdale County, Michigan, Mrs. George Mackey and Mrs. Orin L. Mackey of Wright; O. J. Johns and Mrs. Hattie Somers of York, Mecosta County. Also leaves 47 grandchildren. Burial in Prattville Cemetery.
