Source: Waldron Recorder 28 Jul. 1911 A sad accident took place Monday at the home of George Reasoner, two miles East of the County line Church, which cost the life of a 13-year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reasoner. Mr. Reasoner had bought a rifle home on Sunday and set it in the corner of the living room. The parents went away on Monday leaving the girl, age 13, and a boy, age 8 years old. While the girl was sitting on a couch sewing the boy took the rifle and playfully pointed it at her, threatening to shoot. It was the same old story. The ball entered the girl's neck and she staggered to the front porch where an Uncle hearing the report. and was coming to see about it, met her. She barely gasped "I am shot" and falling forward on her face, became unconscious and died in a short time. The grief-stricken family have the deepest sympathy of the community.
