Mulliken, son of Charles and Syphia Amelia (Yates) Mulliken, was born 14 Feb 1842 in Hudson, Lenawee Co., MI and died 30 Jul 1930 in Fremont, MI, age 88. He was buried in West Cemetery in Hesperia, MI. He was a farmer. He fought during the Civil War in Michigan Company G, 2nd Cavalry, joining as an 18 year-old private. He was promoted to full sergeant and then to full corporal. He was a member of the Star Masonic Lodge, No. 93 in Osseo, Michigan and transferred to the Hesperia Lodge No. 346 in 1900 and became a life member in 1910. Alonzo married Mary Eveline Bemis 04 Jul 1866 in Cambria Twp., Hillsdale Co., MI. They were parents of six children: Jennie Mulliken, Nora M. Mulliken, ? Mulliken, Arthur Alonzo Mulliken, Iva Elsie Mulliken (whom you know well) and Floyd Mulliken. Let me know if you need more info on the kids. Mary Eveline Bemis, daughter of S. Bemis and Sallie Sawyer, was born 15 Dec 1847 in NY and died 23 Jan 1937 in Denver Twp., MI., age 89. She was buried next to Alonzo. I don't know Mary's father's full name. He died when Mary was a baby. S. and Sally moved to Michigan in the 1840s or early 1850s. Sallie Sawyer was born in NY about 1816. I don't have her death date. S. and Sallie were parents of 5 children: Mariah Louise Bemis, born 22 May 1837 in Clarendon, Orleans Co., NY; d. 31 Mar 1918 in Marshall, Calhoun Co., MI, age 80. She married Samuel Richard Lusk in Hillsdale in 1858. Harriet Bemis, born circa 1839. Frank Bemis, born 1842. Jane Bemis, born in 1844. She married Mr. Champan and they lived in Chicago, IL. Mary Eveline Bemis, born 15 Dec 1847 in NY; d. in 1937 in Michigan. Married Alonzo Mulliken in 1866. Terri Mulliken Allen
