Married Maria L JOHNSON (b 1830 N.Y.) in Allen Twp, Hillsdale, in 1850. Both are buried in Allen Cemetery. Children were: OSCAR CLARK b abt 1859 Emmaline M. Henry came to Hillsdale When Hillsdale College moved to Hillsdale from Ann Arbor, He was a professor there for many years. They lived in Hillsdale until 1872 when they moved to Ca. I am searching for information on my third great grandfather's younger brother Luther King who was born near or in Lebanon Springs and Caanan in the Lebanon Springs Valley of Columbia County, New York in 1809 his parents are Amos Nahum and Hopestill (Haskins) King. He came to Hillsdale county after his father died in 1839. He had at least one son John F. King who is known from letters to his Oregon cousins to have been in Hillsdale in 1904. Hi: My name is Joe Anjier & I'm a new subscriber to the list. Just recently I found my gggrandfather on the 1850 & 1860 Censuses for Somerset Township in Hillsdale County. His name is ASHUR T. STRONG b. ca. 1818 & his wife's name is HARRIET b. ca. 1827& they said they were born in New York. Their children were Helen b. 1847, Nathan D. b. 1851, Harriet L.(could be Lowania) b. 1855 & Richard A.b. 1861. I think all the children were born in Hillsdale Co. Ashur was not listed in the 1840 Hillsdale census but Amos, Daniel, David, Samuel & Seth were. Does anyone on the list know if any of these men were related to Ashur?
