Dan, Unless a family member was here (or to call) to request funeral arrangements the deceased was buried at Oakwood Cemetery in the Asylum Plot. The number for Oakwood is 231-922-4907 and they are on computer and only takes a few minutes to look up. There are records at the sexton's office (not wholly complete) And there are records at the City Clerk,,,, 231-922-4480 which often has records that the sexton does not have so you should always check both places.. especially for the older libers. When they changed over to new libers there is not even a place for parents... arghhhh.. Cemetery is located on East 8th St with the sexton on the north side of the road. This is a big cemetery.. at least to us rural area folks..lol The Catholic burial records have all been moved to an office at 812 Garfield Road and are now held by the Oakwood Catholic Diocesan Cemetery, 231-947-7921 If he was not Catholic he will not be in their records. All the offices are very helpful. As for hospital records themselves.. they are in State Archives of Lansing.. same building as Library of Michigan. I have not tried to access any lately but they are hard to get too.
