Hi list, I really can't believe that in family genealogy there comes an end to a family line. I seem to realize that my family lineage on my grandmothers side is just about gone. She passed away this past Jan. 2002. There in one uncle left and his children, and one child who was adopted and her family. That is it. The only thing left to do is go backwards into time and that is not easy. No dates, little names, and what names you have turn out to be nicknames which makes it even harder to find them. I have one census that has a son listed as Birdie. Who in the world would name a son Birdie? Anyway, I'll get to my plea for help once more. I am looking for anyone who has information on a Lydia AUSTIN in Michigan. She married a Peter JONES in 1864. He is still alive in 1880 because he is on the census. So Peter had to of died some time between then and the 1900 census only because Lydia is listed as Liddie CHAPLE (misspelled first name) and also listed as widowed. So she married CHAPLE before the 1900 census. I have a 20 year time frame here to work with, but have not yet come up with anything. Can anyone help? It will be greatly appreciated.
