    3. I am writing to find out if anyone on the list knows of the first families of Genesee CO. I believe that the Genesee CO. genealogy society would be the one that handles it but am unsure who to contact. I was also wondering when the family had to be in Genesee CO. to be considered to be a first family? Kevin Miller Coleman MI

    3. Kevin, An interesting question. Maybe there is only a "first families of Michigan"? My Ingalls ancestor arrived in Genesee County in 1835 from Clayton, Jefferson county, NY.
