Donna, I only have a very little as this is not a direct line; my great-grandmother's sister (Nellie Reed) married a Taliaferro. But I thought I'd share what I DO have. . . . Claiborne or Clayton TALIAFERRO, born 1850 in Virginia; died 2 Oct 1889; buried Avondale Cemetery, Flint, Genesee, Michigan married to Luella or Willa HIBBARD, born in Michigan. Son of Claiborne & Luella: Ernest Claiborne TALIAFERRO, born 16 Mar 1883 in Flint, Genesee, Michigan; died 1930; buried Avondale Cemetery, Flint married on 12 Jan 1916 in Flint, to Nellie Edith REED, born about 1889 in Flint; died 1953, buried Avondale Cemetery. Children of Ernest & Nellie: Mary E. TALIAFERRO, born 1917 in Michigan Elizabeth M. TALIAFERRO, born 1919 in Michigan Sources: Genesee County Michigan Cemeteries, Volume 9; compiled by Merle Perry, Jr.; Flint Genealogical Society. 1920 US Census, Genesee County MI, ED 11, sheet 6B; 8 Jan 1920. Record of Marriages; Vol 8; pg 226; record number 3251 (Ernest & Nellie's marriage; says that Ernest was married once before). There are also a few Taliaferros in the Flint Genealogical Society Red Book Index (although I don't have the documentation for them). http://www.rootsweb.com/~mifgs/rbindex/syte-tayl_1.html : Taliaferra, Ernest C.; 2/16/1930 Taliaferro, Mrs. Maria; 11/23/1884 Taliaferro, Rhea Edna; 9/12/1919 I do hope something in here is helpful to you! Hi, I am pretty new to this list serve, and hoped to find some info on the name Taliaferro. My gg grandparents migrated from Va. to Flint in the 1850's. They had several children, including Charles, my g grandfather, who was divorced from his first wife, Etta. I have not been able to follow him after that. Would love any additional info anyone may have! Thank you!! Donna

I would like to welcome those of you new to this site and tell you there are some really great folks who are willing to help just for the asking. I, myself do Volunteer research at Andersonville Civil War Prison in Andersonville Georgia. There are Any research I do is absolutely at NO cost and I am willing to do what I can. There are 1376 prisoners on record from the state of Michigan and the almost 800 known from Michigan who died here, I thought I would send my offer. Here are my sources of research. There are 2 online databases to do lookups.....One by name...one by Company and Regiment. I also have a copy of the Dorence Atwater Death list which has the names and grave numbers of 12960 graves with only 460 marked as " UNKNOWN " This along with a CD I have which contains 34,000 names of the 45,000 who were imprisoned there which helps me find prisoner records because of misspellings of the names or alternate names. I visit the prison site every couple of weeks and have access to the onsite databases as well as the physical files. I would like to let you know of another service I offer which is to take photos of graves for a small fee. Please do not consider this spam as my research offer is FREE for the asking and will be posted on this county site only once. If there is anything I can do in helping your research at Andersonville, please just ask. Pam: It is possible that Hattie was a nick name for Harriet. At least that is the way it was for at least one of my ancestors, born Harriet, but called Hattie. Looking for information on James S. McCALLUM/McCOLLUM born 11 January 1865 in Prescott Michigan and died on 21 Dec 1918 in Michigan. He was married to a Daisy M. BROWN. Daughter of Hattie BROWN (maiden name JONES). Daisy M. BROWN was born 7 March 1893 in Michigan died in New Mexico on 17 March 1982. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am trying to put together this family. God Bless Pam
I would like to find Lydia AUSTIN who married Peter JONES on another Census to prove some names. I have the 1880 Census for them with family in Elmwood, Tuscola Michigan. However I have some pictures of Lydia and 3 of her daughters named Emma JONES, Flora Bell JONES and Hattie JONES. My attention is on Hattie JONES. I do not see a Hattie JONES. If this is a nickname then sometimes it will show up on another Census. Then I know I have the right person and dates and I can write for a certificate. All through family information she was known as Grandma Hattie BROWN (she married a supposedly Charley HEATH, but might be a John HEATH and he drowned) then she married a William Murry BROWN. But the name that was found for this information was an Olive A. JONES, not a Hattie JONES. So I need to prove who Hattie really is. Can anyone help? If anyone can find an obit on this drowning of HEATH it might give surviours names. I have run out of places to look God Bless Pam
Looking for a man with the last name CHAPLE who married a Lydia JONES (maiden name AUSTIN) in Michigan. She is listed on the 1900 Mills, Ogemaw Michigan Census as Liddie (misspelled) CHAPLE as widowed age 52 born Aug 1847 in Michigan. Says her mother is from New York and father from Germany. Another census says parents are from Michigan.. She is living with Layfaette, her son and his family, plus another son is also listed in the household. Lydia married CHAPLE after Peter JONES died. Supposedly Lydia married a William BROWN sometime after CHAPLE. That would have to be sometime after 1900. Don't know when Peter JONES died either. Can anyone help? God Bless Pam

Does SKS has access to the 1930 Flint city directory? I would like to know where Arthur Arndt lived in 1930. On the 1920 census it looks like the street name is Trafalet---however I can not find a street by that name. Thank in advance. Sue D. Sue Crowder Kissel GENTECH 2003 -Ask me about it.
