Hi, Mary, Thanks for the offer. My questions - Did they have a family? Is there a marriage record? her maiden name and origin? obituaries? Occupation? Any crumb you happen to come across would be appreciated. Dorothy Thanks in advance for your efforts. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mary" <marymary@ameritech.net> To: <MIGENESE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, March 16, 2002 10:51 AM Subject: Re: [MIGENESE] Maurice & Mary Ella EVANS > I am going to do some work at the library onext week. > What specifically do you want to know? > > Mary > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Dorothy Dahm" <dndahm@sympatico.ca> > To: <MIGENESE-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Saturday, March 16, 2002 8:48 AM > Subject: [MIGENESE] Maurice & Mary Ella EVANS > > > > Greetings, > > I have just joined the list in hopes of tracking down a branch of my EVANS > > tree. > > According to a letter to my mother from Maurice's sister, his wife Mary > Ella > > was living in Flint in 1964. > > I am posting here what information I have on this family, mostly gained > from > > letters from his sister, Alice. > > I have information on some of his siblings, his parents and grandparents > to > > exchange with interested parties. > > Dorothy from Ontario. > > > > 1. Would anybody be interested in trying to look up an Obituary for Thomas Delbert Needham born Dec. 25, 1796 in Batavia, NY (one wft said Thimbley, Lincolnshire, England, but not sure about that) died in Saginaw, Michigan March 27, 1857? He may have been buried in Evergreen Cemetary but not sure. I have a note in some wft record from a Harmon Albert Straugh who had the obituary that said: "From NY they went to Canada, then into Michigan, according to the Evergreen Cemetery (Grand Blanc?) Records. Church records. Moved to Michigan in 1833 according to Obituary that Harmon Straugh had. They were buried in Section 112". Also, Obituary for Emeline Elizabeth Porter, born Dec.15, 1796 in Batavia, NY, died May 15, 1869 in Flint, MI. May have been buried same place as Thomas (above). Any help would be appreciated. I'm at a dead end on this generation. Thanks, cheryl

There was a Calvin Warner in Flushing, MI that donated 5 acres, including the school site, to the school district in 1886. The Warner school was built sometime between 1886 and 1890. Also a Warner family listed in the 1850 census for Flushing, MI. There is a B.F. Warner, Mildred, Sarah J. and William George listed in the Flushing Sesquicentennial History book published a few years ago. I have book 2, maybe someone from Genesee Co. can see is those are related to you. In Book 2 there is Barbara, Benjamin and Calvin.
Dear Nancy: Thank you for taking the time to respond to my posting. I would be interested in whatever is out there on that area. This has been a frustrating time for research! I appreciate your kind offer and am looking forward to anything you can share.
Kevin, I have found several Warner's living near my Harrington/Herrington's both in Macomb Co Mi and in Genesse Co. The time period 1832-1870. There are many Warners listed in the 1870 census in Mi. I don't know if this is of any help I would be happy to forward the info if you would like. Nancy Nlhernan@aol.com
Dear Fellow Researchers: I am researching my WARNER'S who were last known to be in the Flushing Township (Genesee County), Michigan, having migrated there from New York, probably in the early 1840s. My Warner's included Washington J. Warner, George Warner, Emory B. Warner (my great-grandfather) and a daughter whose name might have been "Loyal" or "Lydia." I have seen several Warner postings referring to the Flushing Township area with names like Hannah Warner and John Warner, and Mary Warner, who by virtue of the township being about the size of a postage stamp back then, are probably related somewhere. The township even has a Warner Road. Collateral names with my Warner's are: 'Staeger" (sp?) and SUNDELL. Washingon J. Warner was probably the town pharmacist and a business owner. I recently found documents indicating that Washington Warner homesteaded 1600 acres in the Zikwaukee, Michigan area. I will gladly share what I have and will help you with your research as best I can from California.
