Hi Could anyone tell me how I would go about getting information on my Parr family when they were born etc.I have the ages from the Census They lived in Charlotte do I get the addresses of the Churches and write there or is there anyone on the list who could look this up for me at the LDS please. Rose, Michigan began keeping "official" records in 1867. So ordering death certificates & marriage records from the state after that date is an option. Birth records must be at least 100 hundred years old in order for you to order them in the state of Michigan. The only exceptions are if you have an attorney and can show reason OR if you are NAMED on the birth certificate. I would contact the local genealogy or historical society in the community in which you are researching to locate the names of churches and where that record might be found. You might also try checking the ROOTSWEB web site for that county to see if anything is listed there that would help you. You can go to Rootsweb.com and look for the state link. Click on Michigan. Then on the county once you are taken to the state page. Hope this helps.
