I'm sorry to keep pestering everyone tonight! There is a strong possibility that my husband's grandmother was adopted. It is believed that she was born & raised in Michigan. I wrote to the State of Michigan to request her birth certificate. I received it in the mail today but am a little confused by it. The birth date is not what we thought it was. Also, the birth certificate is in the name of the people who we believe adopted her. It has a doctor's signature at the bottom stating that he was there. Now I realize that the one I received may not even be for the right person. What I'm wondering is....If she was adopted would there be a birth certificate like this filed with the adoptive parents names? Does anyone know how I can find out more about her adoption? Thank you!
