I'm finding it impossible to trace any of my mother's Scot ancestors who lived in Michigan. Apparently all were university educated, a rarity in the late 1800s-early 1900s I would think. One branch, MacRae, had a Dr. John MacRae whose mother, Belle MacLean, was my gr-grandmother's half sister.
