Greetings; I am attempting to obtain information on my ROSS relatives who migrated from Ontario, Canada to areas in Owosso, Michigan in the late 1800's, then on to other locations in the same state. It started with: 1) - William B. Ross b-1830, d- _?_, married to Ellen Ketchapaw b- _?_, d-1914 unknown cemetery. 2) - Absalom N. Ross b-1832, d-1906, married to Catherine Lawrence b-1838, d-1919 both buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Owosso. 1)- Emma Roy Ross b-1860, d- _?_ married to Merritt Ralstead b- _?_, d- _?_ unknown 2)- Mable B. Ross b- 1886, d-1916 married to Lester Williams b- _?_, d- 1912 both buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Owosso. 1)- Zayda Bell Williams b- 1915, d- _?_ married __?__ 3) Ross E. Ross b-1900, d- _?_ married 1915 to Ivy Orris b- _?_, d- _?_ 4) Sarah M. Ross b-1862, d- _?_ married in 1881 to James Allan Katchapaw b- _?_, d- _?_ buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Owosso. 5) William H. Ross b-1873, d- 1953 married in 1899 to Grace Leadbetter b- _?_, d- _?_ both (was on the Owosso Fire Dept. with his brother #6) - buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Owosso. 1) George N. Ross b- 1900, d- _?_ married in 1929 to Doris Smith b- _?_, d- _?_ 2) Walter H. Ross b- 1905, d- 1965 buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Owosso. 6) James Frederick Ross b- 1876, d- April 1, 1900 ( first Fireman to be killed on duty fighting the Central School fire) Buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Owosso, married to Katherine Haupt b- _?_, d- _?_. 7) Zenas Ross III b- 1871, d- _?_ married in 1893 to Margaret Halsey b- _?_, d- _?_ (war reported as being the Town Marshal during the Central School fire and hunted in Alpin) 8) Ira Franklin Ross b-1868, d- 1898 buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Owosso. The above are all descendants of Zenas Ross & Rachel Wright-Ross who fought in the American Revolution and were loyalists who migrated to Canada at the end of the war. There are 6 Ketchapaws in the Hastings County are. Hastings is on the north side of Lake Ontario. Ketchapaw is an Indian name and there is the 1st 6NAtions reserve in that are of Ont. There are 133 Ross' listed in the same area. All per the cemetery index for the province.
