Pat, I'm not sure if you want Emmet, MI. or Emmet Co. MI. I believe for Emmet, MI. there is not a Littlefield Twp. but there is for Emmet Co. MI. Here's a map for Emmet Co. MI. which lists a Littlefield Twp. http://members.tripod.com/~deemamafred/emmmap.html Lucy ----- Original Message ----- From: Pat McKinley To: Lucy Sent: Friday, June 06, 2003 10:19 PM Subject: Re: [MIGEN] Hannah Nicholas Lucy, Thanks so much for the information I will certainly check the other list out. Hello Everyone: Those of you who are working on your lines back to your 1600s American Ancestors will find the1600s Ancestors Data Base to be of great help. My recent postings to the Data Base has taken it to over 26,500 Ancestors who have descendants living today. I have also added several National Societies who have proven many of these Ancestors. Also at this time a few new respected Reference works that contain thousands of sources including some of the early colonists who have Royal Blood lines. All the entries are coded to indicate to which reference work or which National Society has at least one of their proven lines. Several of the National Societies have over 20 different lines from a single Ancestor. When you enter the 1600s Ancestor Data Base be sure to look at the top of each data page for the link that takes you to the "Data Base Information Page" Here you will find the codes and references listed and how to use them. This is must reading to understand the Data Base. We are constantly updating the Data Base with additional Ancestors added as time permits. You will find the 1600s Ancestor Data Base at: http://www.firstfamilies.org/db/ Everyone has FREE access to all our web site and the reports contained there. Enjoy and Happy Hunting Ryan Jackson Data Base Manager America's First Families

My guess is that "Chalabay" is Shelby in Macomb County, Michigan. Some simple google searches with key words "michigan-shelby-sugar beets" will get you loads of leads and info. There is also a Shelby in Oceana County. I have just put up my new website with many surnames on it. Also lineage connections to pilgrims, puritans, pioneers and presidents. Let me know if we have any ancestors in common and I'll be happy to exchange data with you. I'm always looking for new cousins. Sarah www.gaia.edu/genclass/srose/
Looking for the marriage of William DUNWOODIE & Ann ??? I believe circa 1855. The family was in Detroit in the 1880 Census. Regards Steve Nethercote Melbourne, Australia ** Oak Tree: A nut that held its ground **
What exactly would you like to find out? I have done a lot of research for people before only to find out they already know what I found. Is there something more specific you need? I might be able to find something. RC
The only one I saw in 1920 was Pauline FORCEY, age 48, b. in WI Found a couple of Wm FORCEYs and one Mary in 1930 WI. Seems most FORCEYs were from/in Pennsylvania. RC
I'm not familiar with how well the 1920 Census is indexed; I'm looking for any FORCEY (but specifically, William and Mary) in Michigan in the 1920 Census. Their son was supposedly born in Michigan in 1921 and I have no other records showing their location at that time. I would also appreciate a check of 1930, if possible. Thanks, D. Forcey
Looking for the above families. Family legend has it that the Costin or Dunwoodie families were an important family in the US railroads. Jim Dunwoodie lived in Detroit and was Mattie Costins brother. Mattie Costin family lived in Indianapolis in 1929. These are all descendants of Joseph & Ann Osborne, who resided in Montreal, Canada between 1838 and 1849. I posted this earlier to the Oakland County list and thought I would share it here as well. The person had requested information on a TB sanitorium. Hope that someone on the list can get something from this note. ************************** The best place to access records such as the ones you are requesting is the state archives. The state archives of Michigan has circulars on line which can help you determine if the records you are seeking are in their possession. First go to: http://www.michigan.gov/hal/0,1607,7-160-17449_18637---,00.html Then on the left side of your screen click on STATE ARCHIVE CIRCULARS. Look for INFIRMARIES, SANATORIA and POOR HOMES. Click on that. It will tell you there what records are available and how to find them, and how to get them once you find them. There is a LONG list of items there that are available for people to use in their research if only they take the time to read and learn. I encourage everyone who may have an interest in genealogy in Michigan Counties to visit the state archive site at: http://www.michigan.gov/hal/0,1607,7-160-17449---,00.html Take a minute and "surf" around and see what resources are available! Hope this helps. Karen Check out some of our web pages: http://www.wwnet.net/~krugman1 (Main home page) http://www.miprofgenie.com http://www.nebulacomputers.com (Our son's page!) I am looking for the obituary for Bernice/Bronislawa SOLNIK who died 11-23-1966 and was buried at Mt Olivet Cemetery 11-28-1966. I have 2 prayer cards, one in English and one in Polish, but I don't know why my grandma had these cards. I am hoping to find out more about her and see if she was related somehow.
