Hi! My current focus is on finding the wives of Adam Webber, who lived briefly in Ionia County and then in Montcalm County, where he died at Six Lakes. I cannot find where his first wife, Mary Hays, is buried, and Adam is buried with a "Sophia Webber" in McBride Cemetery in Montcalm County. His children all lived in Ionia/Montcalm County as well. His son, Cornelius, has a wife buried Cornelius' first wife was named Helen, and his second wife was named Lucy. Helen is buried by herself in Forest Hill Cemetery in Stanton, and I have not yet found Lucy or Cornelius' graves. If anyone has any information about the Webber Wives, I would love to hear from you! Hi everyone! I just returned from a visit with my step-mother in Las Vegas (we spent *way* too much money and didn't win a thing!). Anyway, I brought home my father's scrapbook, high school yearbooks, and his mother's photo albums...wonderful stuff in 'em all (oh...the yearbook signatures bring stuff to the imagination!)! And, so, I thought I would post and see if anyone knows anything of this info. My father was Marvin BENNETT (born MADER, but adopted by his step-father at about 11 years old), and graduated from Berkley High School (Oakland County) in 1956. He was on the football team all 4 years, first as 2nd string full-back, but his senior year he was the quarterback. Unfortunately, that year there were only a small handful of returning lettermen for the Varsity team, my father the only senior, and none with starting string-experience and they only scored in one game that whole season! He was in the Varsity Club, and on the wrestling team. It appears that his girlfriend through at least a couple years of school was a girl named Bev, though he met my mother, Maureen, a couple years out of high school in Southfield, where she lived, and married her in 1959. Two of his closer football buddies appear to be a Jim Harrington and a Bob Mooney. And, get this, he was voted in his class as the male with the 'best build'! I *love* that! Marvin attended Pattengill Elementary as I think these two men did too.. Also, I have found a bunch of ribbons from Camp Michawana for placement is contests at the camp. Mostly these were for different swimming events, but there were a few from tennis and track, too. The dates on the ribbons are from 1952, '53' and '54. Now, I looked the camp up and found their website and was surprised that it is/was such a religious camp, but I also do know that my grandmother was pretty strong in her faith... My dad was very helpful when it came to doing the genealogy (a fact which I must say, surprised me), but I never pestered him about his own childhood, like I should have...he passed away last November. I only returned home yesterday evening from my visit, and stayed up late last night (laughing and crying) reading everything in the yearbooks and such! Would love to hear from anyone who knows anything about any of the above info...or any sugestions for further research. All the Best to All, Alicia (Bennett) Jensen Soutehrn California

This is to let you know that I will leave the free search sites that I received from my distant cousin who is a genealogist, on my computer, due to the high response for them until Sunday nite. These are easy to use sites which are free, you click on the url line and then type in surname and click search. All have been scanned by Norton 2003. If you do not have a scanner on your computer, you wont receive the sites as your mail will automatically go into my delete file. please send request for these sites directly to my address mpeters@xcelco.on.ca
Today will be the last day that I will be sending free search links, all scanned by norton 2003, for Eng, Ireland, Scotland,Canada, USA etc. as I will be answering queries for marriages for Perthshire, Scotland 1687-1809 [1 surname request at a time only] My family takes me to visit the Seniors Home once a week to take them jokes which I print off that people send to me and distribute them while my grandsons play country and western music for them. I find visiting the seniors home to be very enlightening on the information that they have of bygone years. My grandson, sat beside one of them who was 97 years old, and very knowledgeable and read one of my old newspapers to her from 1834, she sure enjoyed it, she had a hearty laugh when he read her the part about Turkeys ready for the oven in an adv. for 30 cents each. She told him you just made me feel young. [We dont discuss politics, religion or money, or their age, that is all their business, like my dad used to say. This! Sunday we plan on taking her out for dinner with us as she doesnt have any relatives. I think more people should visit seniors or nursing homes as some may call them. I will also be preparing for my grandsons band plus others to play at the Dow People Place on Front st. In Sarnia, Ont. on Aug 19, 2003 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Also the seniors enjoy playing shuffleboard and crocinole. Also thanks to the many people who have replied to my writeups, who have found a direction as to where they may search for ancestors from these newspaper articles, who asked if I could find info for them. Please note this will be my last for lookups except for Perthshire, Scotland marriages. === FROM Colonial Advocate, Toronto, Ont, Canada Aug 14, 1834 obituaries as written George Perrin, of the Chequered Store, d. last week Last Friday, Capt James McIntosh, elder brother of Captain Charles McIntosh owner of the Steamship the Cobourg, died and had only been married a few months Louisa Burwell, daughter of Col.
