    1. [MIGEN] Bonnie and Richard Long, Battle Creek, 1950s
    2. Sue Bruce
    3. Can somebody help me with information Bonnie and Richard Long. Sister and Brother. They were the children of Clifford Long and his 3rd wife. Born in Battle Creek around the 1950s. Richard was younger than Bonnie. I know they were living at 208 Euclid Ave, Battle Creek in November 1953. I think Bonnie was born around 1951 ish. She married right after high-school, and had a baby in the following 1-2 years. Don't know the name of her husband, but presume they were married in Battle Creek too. Not sure if they are alive or not. Can anyone help with where I might look for information? Sue Bruce

Ross UE [mailto:cgross@peterboro.net] Sent: Sunday, August 10, 2003 10:17 AM To: MIGEN-L@rootsweb.com Subject: RE: Zenas/os Ross Clan from Ontario CA Dear Listers; (Sorry, I left a few details out of my last posting). I'm researching the decendents of the above and have been for the past 5 years. I received a list of decendents which dates around 1930 and have added quite a few more. Zenas was from Ct. then moved to Vt. and was a private with the King's Rangers/Rogers Rangers, K.R.R.N.Y. during the Amer. Rev. After defeat he and his family (Rachel nee Wright, and 5 children) migrated to Canada and settled in Ontario and were given Crown land as United Empire Loyalists. Through time several kin have moved to different parts of Canada and the States. Zenas' greatgrandson, Absalom Ross (m) Catherine Lawrence had 10 children and moved his family to Owosso Mi., where he and his wife are buried. His daughters Mable B. (m) Lester Williams, Sarah M. (m) James Allan Ketchapaw, sons William H. (m) Grace Leadbetter and James Fred (m)(? ? ? ). Fred was the first fireman to be killed fighting the Central School fire in Owosso on April 1,1900. Zenas Jr. (m) (???) was either on the Owosso Fire Dept. or was the town Marshal. All of the above are buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Owosso. There are several other Ross' related buried there as well. I have digital photos of all of the gravestones. Last year when I was in Owosso around the same time, somewhere in Michigan, there was a Ross reunion that I was not aware of and would like to have gone. I have no Ross contacts in Michigan and would like to contact further reletives and possibly add them to the main Ross list. Anyone connected to this Ross clan please contact me. Thanking you in advance for any assistance you may be able to give. Loyally, Chuck

    3. My surname I'm researching is McPhee, Clarance Guy. This is all I have, my mother didn't know he was her father till later in life. On her birth certif. it had father Clarence McPhee, deceased, from Michigan. She was born April 19, 1923 in Denver, Colorado. She always thought her step father, Sam Nobil was her father, who raised her. Does anyone have any MCPHEE living in Denver around 1920-1923? Thanks in advance. 3. St. Patrick's Catholic Church Cemetery - Irishtown, Gratiot Co. Michigan http://www.mfhn.com/gratiot/seville/irishtown/default.asp The reading of the stones is now online with a few photos of the cemetery. This one is an old cemetery, with the earliest remaining stones done in 1862 of a mother and son. Although all nationalities seem to be in this cemetery, the oldest section is primarily Irish surnames. Many of the names also have ties to the Shepherd area of Isabella Co. as it sits on the county line of northern Gratiot Co. in Seville Twp. not far from there. 3. My guess is that they weren't missed, but I'll give you odds that the surnames you are using got "butchered". My guess is that you won't find those surnames spelled anything like you expect them to be. Use the 1930 on ancestry and be creative with your options or tell it to SOUNDEX it. I can give you an example in my own research. My Husbands KRUGMAN family was in Lorain County Ohio in 1920. I knew they were there, they didn't move, they certainly didn't go back to Germany. I tried line by lines everything. I finally looked in my notes and found their address from a city directory. After much work I found them: KAUFMAN - the entire family was there, listed perfectly but the census taker may have been of a different nationality, and with John Krugman being a German I can imagine the conversation. My guess is the census taker wrote what he thought he heard. KRUGMAN ----> KAUFMAN Hope this is somewhat helpful!
