    2. Karen Krugman
    3. Why not send a letter to Mt. Olivet and ask if he is buried there and if so what can they tell you about his date of death? Sometimes they also have copies of obits and such. Worth the stamp in my opinion. I know it was before 1968 (when his wife died). How do I find out his death date with so little info? He may be buried at Mt Olivet (that's where she is). Any suggestions appreciated. Stanley would've been born about 1870 (between January and April) in Poland. 3. Hello Tony, have you checked out this information? Michigan Law Michigan has a Confidential Intermediary (CI) Program. For information contact, Central Adoption Agency: Capitol Building Lansing, MI 48933 517-373-1837 STATE ADOPTION DEPARTMENT: Department of Social Services P. O. Box 30037 235 South Grand Avenue Lansing, MI 48909 (517) 373-3513. Adoption Records were closed in 1925. All Court records are locked and require a Court Order showing good cause for the release of any information from them. Almost all agencies will release non-identifying information to an adult involved party, although some may charge a fee for this service. Birthparents and/or adoptees may file a Consent to Release of Information Form with the placing agency at any time. For additional information regarding access to closed adoption records, request DSS Publication 439, "Release of Information from Michigan Adoption Records," from child placing agencies, attorneys or contact: The Central Adoption Registry, Michigan Department of Social Services, P.O. He was adopted as a baby in Genesee County, Michigan. We know his exact birth date and birth name (Surname as well as given) and that he was the 10th child in the family. Also have Flint, Michigan Probate Court case number, and date of the actual adoption. We are looking for his parents given names. Is it possible armed with all of the above information to obtain those names? Are the records still sealed after all this time, given the fact that we have all of the other information regarding this adoption? This information is not being solicited for any contact to be made with natural family, even if there is any left. The purpose is to complete a proper family tree for his children and grandchildren. We do have other information regarding his birth, etc. that I have not listed here for a number of reasons, but the only thing really missing is the parents names as mentioned above. > Can someone guide me in helping to retrieve this info. > > Thanking all in advance, > > Tony > > > > --------------------------------- > Do you Yahoo!? > Yahoo! 1. [MIGEN] Charles W. COOK
    2. Penny, You wrote:"My names in Saginaw MI Charles W. COOK, wife Marvilla PARQUETTE COOK died in Saginaw June 16, 1885 giving birth to a daughter, Myrtle. I can not find any info on any of this. On Myrtle's marriage license it says she was born in Saginaw MI. So this is where I am researching this family." In the 1892 Saginaw & Bay County Michigan Biographies, I find a William L. Cook. His wife was Rachel Murch, whom he married on April 21, 1857. They had 4 children: Silas; Lizzie, wife of William Vance; Kittie and Charles. Of course I'm not sure this is the Charles W. Cook that you are looking for, you will need to prove or disprove this. There is a lot of other family history in the small article, giving both William and Rachel's parents and birth places. If you think this is your line, you might request a copy of either the Bay City Public Library on Center Avenue, Bay City, Michigan or the Hoyt Library in Saginaw, Michigan.
