Hello Michael in Norway from Ontario, Canada, This is a bit of a fishing expedition, but thought I would give it a try. I have a Dods line which peters out around 1717. I know of no direct connection to Athelstaneford, but the family seemed to have moved between Berwickshire and Roxburghshire, short distances even for those times. Here is what I have: Andrew Dods b~1681 (loc?) m Grissel Forest (2 children Alexander b1714 & Andrew b1717) This is an IGI finding and not confirmed. Andrew Dods b1717 Eccles, BWK m Christian Haig (5 male children listed IGI, Ist two born Merton Church ~4 miles from Earlston) Andrew Dods b1746 Roxburgh, ROX m Margaret Stevenson (8 children born Earlston/Nenthorn, BWK) William Dods b1781 Earlston, BWK emigrated to Canada in 1824 with wife (Elizabeth Shillinglaw) and (5 of 8?) children. Let me know if there is any possible connection.
