have you looked at other spellings - Edmundson etc. Andhave you looked at records at sea, one or more of these people could have been sea going I know what you mean tho - My Thomas Williamson is in hosptial on the 1881 censues, and from all the records after that he might well still be there, with the staff thinking "old Tommy" gets a bit confused and thinks he is a Victorian ships carpenter. His wife - Annie (nee Kerr) is buried in Greenock cemetary as you would expect, but he isnt, and I cant find him anywhere, alive or dead.
