Hello all, I need help and would love to find someone who is also tracing the family of Thomas GIBSON and Isabella CARRUTHERS. Thomas & Isabella married on the 10th March 1826 in Edinburgh. Isabella was the daughter of Francis CARRUTHERS of dumfries and the only one I could come up with was Francis CARRUTHERS Jean RICHARDSON born 6 march 1797. Thomas GIBSON was born in Scotland according to the census that I have on him. He was a soldier with the Royal Artillery. They spent a fair about of their time in Woolwich, and were there for the 1841 census. A number of their children were born in KENT and overseas. I believe that Thomas remarried about 1857 (yet to confirm the death of Isabella) to an Ann ?born in Brighton, Sussex. They had a daughter Elizabeth Gibson born in Woolwich. I have this couple with Daughter Elizabeth and a granddaughter Clara Elliott (born about 1867 either in USA or Cape Coast Castle) in the 1871 and 1881 census in the Plumstead, Kent area. Yet to establish which of their children married an ELLIOTT and where. A possible death for Thomas is Mar Qrt 1882 aged 77 yrs. Any suggestions of where to look greatly received as I am at a dead loss and confused at present. Thank you Pat

I am having trouble trying to find the family of Thomas Grant and Jane or Jean Forsyth in Edinburgh. They were married at South Leith 20th Nov 1832. My gt grandfather John Grant was a son born in Edinburgh 1840. The only other family member I know of is an Elizabeth Grant who married George Brunton 1st July 1853 at St Cuthberts. She was obviously born before John . I would appreciate if there is someone who is tracing the family or prepared to look up a 1841 or 1851 census with this family mentioned . John Grant came out to New Zealand in 1860 on the ship "Pladda". Thank you Helen
