Hi listers: I would like to take this opportunity to let you know about the Johnston Newspapers Lothian, who run the Midlothian Advertiser, East Lothian News, Musselburgh News, Lothian Times, & Peebles Times. In basically a desperate last attempt to find living descendants of my grandfathers 1st cousin (William Campbell) who was born in Carstairs and lived most of his life in and around Dalkeith; I contacted the East Lothian News by phone and asked if they had a record of obituaries. They could not help me on the obituary, but after some discussion, the person on the other end of the phone (Ms. Jo Robinson) suggested that I write a short letter for help and they would be pleased to insert it in one of their newspapers. I do not know which one or how many it went in but I very close to immediately, received an e-mail from a great grand daughter of William. I cannot help but thank them for running my letter and for the professional attitude of their staff and in particular Ms. Jo Robinson.
