Hello Listers & Liz, Just prior to Scotland Civil Registration coming into effect in 1st January 1855, many families registered their children with church. The cost of Civil Registration was higher then the cost of registering/baptizing with the Parish Minister. Hence, when reviewing Old Parish Register Films, (OPR) you must also consult 1855 as this is when many families were registered. Ron Nanaimo, BC, CAN
