Hi Toni out there in Ontario Thank you for the 1871 Census and the info on my Alexander which is the first of the ones you listed. It also shows how one could be misled by wrong spellings. The name Owens shows on one certificate as Ovens, which was the name I started out perusing. The 1871 also shows the John Ovans, Mary's brother and no doubt the connection between the two families.
