Again, amazed at the action this name has created! I have done some more checking and according to familysearch.org, in the IGI, William and Jane had 11 children. The following are records of births and christenings, and a death record for David Laing: Each one of these records were submitted by a member of the LDS church, or a record has been extracted, and some indicated they were submitted after 1991. There is possibly a way, I think, to find out through films at the FHC who may have submitted. I don't use the FHC centre so I am not really sure how that works. Bob; Not yet on either question. There is a death date for William, but it is before the statutory registration so we probably won't find that in Scotlandspeople just yet. I think that came from a prior researcher. I have seen Jean/Jane listed for Williams wife. We just have to keep plugging away!
