I suggest that you check the batch number and see what is in it (I think you can do this by clicking on the batch number and then doing a search with no first and last name). If there are a lot of records in the same parish of unrelated people, then the submitter may not have been searching that family in particular. Quite a few patron-submitted records seem to be cases where an eager church member has individually decided to submit records found in a parish register, probably before that register had been indexed on the IGI.
