    3. Good afternoon Liz, There is often a simple explanation for this . Yesterday I was checking the OPR film for births in Sanquar Parish 1850/1854.( At SGS) Amongst the 1850 births were a number of records from 1840/45 Being long enough working at FH research I can remember the days when we had to consult the original documents ( books) at NRH Many pages were badly watermarked./damaged and the Session Clerk then rewrote them when he had time and where he could find space.. I have seen many instances of a page - rewritten- in a slot 5/10 years out of its normal position ( later) It applies obviously to B,D & M alike and I have found a number of instances over thr years. This is another case where one has to accept that "patience is a virtue " where FH research is concerned !! We have no god given right , unfortunately , to everything being in its place as we would like it !! (WINK) That's one of the things that helps to make FH so compelling and interesting !! Good luck with your searches Regards John John D. 3. Hello John, You are right about everything not in its place. I am constantly surprised and amazed when I find something right out of the blue! I only wish I had the time to spend all day tracking down records. But, that would entail winning the big lottery to quit my job and spend time in Scotland until I think I am done. But would I ever be done? Just when I think I have gone as far as I can, another surprise pops up and I am off again. Knowing what might now be in those later records, I am on the trail again of some gggreats! 2. Hi John, This is so true no matter where you search, even here in the states. We find it often even in our court houses at times but we keep digging and sooner or later if willing to look we find what we are looking for. Glad to see you back on line. Hope you are doing well.
