Hello Jean and Bob: I am absolutely astounded with the response regarding this Laing family. I have been at this since 2000, basically started with my Dempster family, haven't really received any response on the list re Dempsters. Noone seemed to be looking for Dempsters but this Laing family, is a goldmine. So Jean in Australia, do you have anything on the early 1900's with a connection to Dempsters? If not, I do... I also have found two other researchers. One is currently on vacation and have not had a chance to confer to great lengths, just an email saying we had a match, so I am not fully aware of the connection, but will after the 3rd of March. The other I have replied to but not heard from yet. One of them goes back to William and Jean as well. Have either of you had any correspondence with anyone else? Hi Liz I also have got back as far as William & Jean Adamson. Has anyone got back farther? I am not directly linked to the Laing's I am doing research for my cousin's wife who still lives in Edinburgh. David Laing B 1857 Married Alice Wright are her GGGrandparents. I am also in Southern Ontario and fed up with snow. I haven't spoken to anyone I just started this line at the end of last year.
