If they are from the series of census indexes that I think they come from, the next step is to lookup the reference numbers in the back of the book and it will tell you not only the name of the street but also everyone residing at that address, whether Talbots or not. If you are in contact with the original person who looked up the index, they should be able to take the next step for you. These indexes are very complete. Unfortunately I don't have access to volume 3 or I would look it up for you Catherine

    3. Hello! Census indexes for Edinburgh 1851? Is this a name index? If so, can anyone point me to it, or would SKS look up the Stephensons and Pococks for me? I have two rolls of the film at the FHL and am looking page by page for my people - spent three hours yesterday afternoon on 3/4 of the first roll. Didn't find any of them, but copied all the Stevensons and Stevens I found, and will be glad to send the entries if they are of any use to anyone. Happy hunting, Sonia -----Original Message----- From: Catherine Fitchett [mailto:cfitchett@paradise.net.nz] Sent: Friday, April 08, 2005 12:45 AM To: MIDLOTHIAN-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [MLN] Re: 1851 census >Hello all, >Please can anyone help, I am trying to trace the three addresses of >these families, from the following references, and any one else residing >with them. >EDINBURGH The new town vol 3 part 2 >1851 census ref 3046 hs 19 st112 bk 9 pg 5 >sc14 >surname TALBOT Where did you obtain these references?
