    1. Passenger lists?

    3. On 14 Sept 1832, Cunningham Sheppard (a "traveling equipment manufacturer") married Janet Law. On 14 April 1833, Cunningham Sheppard and Janet Law had a son born---also named Cunningham. Both records are located in the St. Cuthberts Parish OPRs. These are the only records I've been able to locate concerning the husband/father. The mother married Alexander Meek in 1839 and James McDonald in 1872 before she died in 1882. Most of her life was spent in the Edinburgh area and she lived on Parish relief per the 1851 census. The first husband seems to have disappeared and I'm wondering if there is some way to determine if he left the country as a seaman, etc. Also, the "Camillus" departed Greenock and arrived in NY on 8 May 1834. Included on the passenger list were Janet Shephard (22) and Cunningham Shephard (1). There were no other known family members/friends on this passenger list. Is there any way to learn more about the woman and child that made this voyage? If this is the same woman that married Alexander Meek, she and her child returned to Scotland prior to 1839. Is there any way to learn when a return voyage might have been made? Thanks for any advice! Sandy Ellis
