I have the following questions regarding extracts from the OPR entries. In marriage records it states that the couple 'gave to the poor and ordinare' Is this a correct transcription? What is the exact derivation/translation. Also there are entries that contain what appears to be "caur for the man" and "caur for the woman". This is obviously character witnesses or the equivalent of our best man/best maid although they appear to be associated with the proclamation of banns.. What is the derivation/translation of caur?
