Shotts is a town on the west side of Central Scotland. The registers and Census records are archived as in the parish of Shotts or in the parish of Cambusnethan, the parish border cutting thru the burgh. On any decent UK map the grid ref is NS8760. The 1971 pop was 5558 for parish of Shotts, and 9512 for the town, the difference being the pop. of parish Cambusnethan. LKS is the Chapman Code abbreviation for Lanarkshire. Chapman code is a logical list which includes INV [erness], LAN [cashire], MDX [Middlesex] and MLN [Midlothian] Cheers, ALISTAIR M. CAMERON A.A.G.R.A.
