Hi Evelyn, From your Google search you will have found that he was born in 1884 & died 6th May 1977, also the name of his wife and her father. You can also find a picture of him on Google if you click on Images instead of Web. I suggest you try press archives for obituaries, e.g.The Scotsman, The Times, The Daily Telegraph, and also musical journals. These may have sufficient personal details to set you on your way. There was also a biography by Michael Turnbull published in 1992 mentioned on Google. Dear Alan Thank you so much for giving me the info. you found on Google. I have just been experimenting by putting in variations of Joseph Hislop, opera singer and have gained a lot more information.
