    1. Seeking info on Cockburn's from Haddington/Humbie
    2. Craig Cockburn
    3. My family is from Haddington and in the 1901 census shows my great grandfather (David Cockburn, died 1921) running a joinery business which I understand was based in a close off the high street and became quite successful, making cabinets, furniture, coffins, helping to build houses on Victoria Road and employing at least 4 people. His son, (also David) Cockburn took over the business and ran it for some years. I believe the business moved from the High Street to near the Gas works. In retirement, David Cockburn (died 1944) was the caretaker for the Corn Exchange (probably late 1930's). David Cockburn (1944) is buried in Haddington Cemetery. I'm trying to trace the burial place of his father who died in 1921 in Haddington. His father, grandfather and uncle all hailed from Humbie Bridge and the last two died there, but I can so far find no trace in Haddington or Humbie regarding their burial place. The family lived in Humbie before moving to Haddington but there appears to be no Cockburn records in the Humbie parish church graveyard, can you suggest what the next most likely burial places would be? Does anyone on the list have access to obituary notices that might provide a clue? -- Craig Cockburn ("coburn").
