Hi Peter, I'm afraid that was all the info there was for the birth in question. Have you had a look in the OPRs at Scotland's People? Or, just a thought - did your Alexander die after 1855? If so, his death certificate should give his parents' names. Have you found your Alexander in any of the censuses? Happy to help if I can.
