    3. Hello Listers This is my first posting and am trying to find anyone who has this William in their tree. My husband's grandmother had a birth certificate in her possession that I can't fit in to anyone in my husband's Lindsay line. William LINDSAY was born in December 1862 at Dean Burn and the birth registered in the Parish of Fala & Soutra County of Midlothian. William's mother was named as Janet LINDSAY (servant) but no father was named. The informant was Jane LINDSAY (aunt). My LINDSAY line seems to have originated in Largie Fife in the early 1800's and then moved to Blackford/Auchterarder/Logie in Perth and Stirling. Ring a bell with anyone?? Cheers Wendy in Australia

    3. Wendy, I have no connection to this family but the following may be of interest to you. If you were to look at the batch containing William's birth you would also see the birth of a Jane Lindsay of the same Parish (Fala and Soutra) b 4 Dec 1858, mother's name Janet Lindsay. There were no other births in that batch from 1855-75 that included the name Lindsay. Also, there were no listed marriages with that surname in the same timeframe.
