I am searching for George Skinner on the 1871 census. He was born in Dalkeith September 1861 so would be nine years old. Only have a birth certificate then in 1881 census I find him in Newcraighall giving the wrong age and birthplace. His parents were not married so possible that not both parents would show on census. He also had a younger brother James born Glasgow October 1863 but I have never been able to find anything for him but a birth certificate. Parents of George & James Skinner are Alexander Skinner a shoemaker and Christina or Christian Taylor born Newbattle or Falkirk. I would be glad of any help or suggestions as I am at a complete dead end.
