Dear Marion, I saw your recent listing of names you are researching on the Midlothian rootsweb list and I would like to ask about the Nicol family you are searching for. I too am looking for Nicols and I guess the easiest thing to ask is do you have a David Nicol that married Lillias Smeaton (we think from Tranent) about 1835 and did any of your Nicols immigrate to Canada (Ontario, specifically) around 1850? Just read your e-mail and thought I would just say I have a May NICOL who married William YOUNG. She was born in 1796, I think married 1817, died 1866.
