    3. Hello, I am trying to track down information about the LIDSTER family. They lived in West Lothian from 1850 onward. I have one document that indicates that this line originally came from Fife, but have had no luck at all in tracking them there. Everything that I have refers to the spelling : LIDSTER. From what I understand this spelling was much more common for England and a uncommon spelling for Scotland. This is what I have so far: James LIDSTER m. Catherine RENTON Son : James LIDSTER born in Fife around 1826 James LIDSTER m. Agnes PHILLIPS. Agnes PHILLIPS born around 1836, I don't know where she was born. Children of James LIDSTER and Agnes PHILLIPS Most of their children were born in West Lothian. I do have a census and death certificates for John and Agnes, they all list James as being a Limestone Miner. I know that they lived near the Levenseat Mine in West Calder area. James LIDSTER died in 1891 at Levenseat, West Calder. Agnes PHILLIPS Lidster died in 1894 at Longridge, Whitburn, County of Linlithgow. Children of James Lidster and Agnes Phillips: John b1854 / d ? Agnes b1855 / d1934 James b1858 / d 1858 ?? b1859 / d1859 William b1860 / d1944 Robert b1863 / d 1909 Catherine b1869 / d 1910 Jemimima b 1871 / d ? David b 1875 / 1940 I have further information about the families of some of the children that you see above, born between 1854 and 1875. I also have some other possibilities that James and Agnes had more children but have not confirmed this yet for sure. The most recent that I can track for the LIDSTERS in this area is up to 1948, one family appears to have lived in Fauldhouse, West Lothian. Does this family looks familiar to anyone ? Thanks, Heather Nova Scotia, Canada
