    3. Hi Elaine, Wasn't sure if this was to me or Penny. Sorry for taking time to reply but I've had visitors over the holidays. I don't have too much info on my Nicols - what I've said to Penny is - >>> my gr gr gr grandmother Margaret Nicol was born in Abercorn in 1816, this is according to the 1881 census as I can't find a birth/christening record for her. From her death certificate I found that her parents were James Nicol and Janet Louden and I've found christenings for a brother Alexander (1804) and a sister Marion (1817) in Ecclesmachen which is just beside Abercorn. Margaret Nicol married Robert Orr in 1836 at Crammond or Ratho and they lived at Corstorphine.<<< I haven't found a May Nicol yet.
