Man alive....how I wish I lived there in Scotland so I could hunt through old cemetaries and certificates with all of you. I get green with envy everytime one of you says you have a certificate of this person or that...you have their family book with oodles of information in it.....yearn, yearn, yearn! Thelma, I live in Canada and I get loads of certificates from all the known sources such as scotlands people et.c. It is beautiful to go there and wander through cemeteries, as I have also done, but you can do much just sitting in front of your computer. Oh yes, and your visa number... But I jest, there is more and more free stuff. Another hint: get involved in any transcription projects that are going on in your county and parish of interest. That way, you get first look at the original information as well as making a great contribution to the wider genealogy community. Don't despair!
