Hello Duncan Thank you for your reply, while i understand what you are saying, i would not at present take it much further as where most people are working back i am working forward with the Scottish connections This because i have a Andrew Aiken from Kettle in Fife who went to India, Many years ago i went to New Register House in Edinburgh & found Andrew's baptism his parents marriage & his Siblings from that i come from the late 1700's up to 1873 with a nephew of Andrew's & it in the last year i found one of his sons & then his family that is Alexander Aitken who live for a while in West Calder Midlothian & it his children & grandchildren i was hoping to find. I can understand not having access like the earlier records but it would have been nice if the index of BMD could have been online as pay per view for those who can not get to Edinburgh or afford a researcher for the later years so i guess it will be down to hoping that Alexander's family are in to family history & want to know more about their ancestors many thanks for replying Regards Janice >From: "Duncan Smith" <d.smith.1@blueyonder.co.uk> >Reply-To: MIDLOTHIAN-L@rootsweb.com >To: MIDLOTHIAN-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: [MLN] Re - Researching After 1904 >Date: Thu, 27 Jan 2005 20:29:57 -0000 > >Hello Janice, > >You were asking "so how would i look for children from marriages that >happen in 1905, 1910 & 1918" ... > >Well of course the advice would partly depend on where you are living, but >as you didn't mention that, I would suggest that you either visit New >Register House in Edinburgh, where the birth indexes do go well beyond >1918, or hire a researcher to visit N.R.H.
