    3. Hi Janice If you have the image of Isabella's marriage does that not contain her fathers name and her mothers name on the certificate - they usually do. 3. Betsey is a nickname for Elizabeth - same woman, same wife. Would guess that Kettle = Kingskettle. Check the microfilmed original record at an LDS Family History Library to get the correct date of marriage - there are many errors in transcripts, copies, and what people have put in the IGI etc. Happy hunting, Sonia -----Original Message----- From: Janice Aitkens [mailto:aitkens64@msn.com] Sent: Sunday, January 23, 2005 2:49 AM To: MIDLOTHIAN-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [MLN] Which Father Hello Everyone, I just joined, I have a bit of a problem I have a Isabella Honeyman who married Alexander Aitken in West Calder Edinburgh 1880. Kingskettle is the same place as Kettle. Spelling differences in registers often occurred..... in 1847, writing was an uncommon skill. The wedding date may not have been recorded, many churches logged only the Proclamations before the marriage took place. When you saw the family in 1881 Census did you notice a David Aitken living close to Alexander? Just ten pages further on in the Census, David bn in the <adjacent> Fife parish of Ceres.
