Hello! I'm new to the site, and beginning to research the Broun family history (my maiden name). I'm also new to the whole genealogical search thing. Others have done a great job of tracing our family in the US back to George Broun (father, Archibald Broun) and Margaret Broun, who came to North America (Virginia) from Scotland with their young son, William, in about 1740. I have found some information on George's lineage, but little thus far on Margaret's (she was born a Broun around 1693 and married a Broun). I have researched the OPR on scotlandspeople.gov.uk and found no records of the marriage or of William's birth. All I found is one reference on the World Family Tree to her being the daughter of George Broun and Elizabeth MacKenzie, but I have not been able to confirm this link. Form Burke's Peerage, I know that George and Elizabeth had issue, but no names were provided. Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance, Pat Jacobs Pittsburgh, PA
