Hello Everyone, I just joined, I have a bit of a problem I have a Isabella Honeyman who married Alexander Aitken in West Calder Edinburgh 1880. It gives her father as David Honeyman & mother Elizabeth Masterton & she was born 27 Jul 1849 Kettle, now i started to look for her parents marriage & there is two who it could be as the first is David Honeyman marrying Elizabeth Masterman 25 Dec 1847 Kettle Fife, the second is Betsey Masterdon 31 Dec 1847 Kingskettle Fife both surnames are slightly out & as this is from familysearch i can understand it so which of the two would i be right in saying is the correct one i do have images of Isabella's Marriage & a daughter's birth which is in 1884, Isabella & Alexander's marriage is in 1880 & going by the 1881 census they had 3 children on there born abt 1875, 1876 & 1878 any help would be appreciated Regards Janice

Janice both Kettle and Kingskettle in Fife are the same place. I took the liberty of checking your entries on the IGI and I personally would take this one "David Honeyman marrying Elizabeth Masterman 25 Dec 1847 Kettle Fife" as more likely since it is a copy of the entry in the OPR, best thing to do is check the OPR yourself. www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk Your "Betsey Masterdon 31 Dec 1847 Kingskettle Fife" is a submitted entry and they can sometimes be a bit unreliable as you don't know the source.
